This handsome hank prefers slow introductions and stable environments. He is cautious of things he isn’t familiar with. Especially things that suddenly move. Plastic bags, for example. He can be particularly shy when meeting new people.
But once Riley gives you access to his special world, you’re in for all that comes with it. Best buddy privileges abound with this one. He loves adventure and won’t ever turn down playing with the ball. He is curious, caring, and will never leave your side. He is the classic companion in waiting.
For now, Riley is working on his confidence. And he’s doing better every day. He is even beginning to learn that petting is not such a scary thing after all!
We are confident that, with the right human, Riley’s confidence will only continue to improve. It takes time with this one. But all good things come to those who wait.
Riley is cautious around new humans and dogs. He prefers slow everything. Introductions, friendships, movements. Slow. He is looking for a home where he will be given the time and the space to adjust and grow into a more confident dog. His humans need to be there for him on this. They need to provide him with that structure and routine. He would love having kids around, but because Riley is a more sensitive dog, children should be above the age of 13 and should be supervised around Riley at all times. Other dogs would be okay too, so long as they were both given slow, steady introductions over a period of time.
Riley is hoping to find a home outside of the busy city, or at least a house with a yard. He is not a fan of commotion and loud, sudden noises.
Riley is the best friend you didn’t know you had. He will be there on your spring and summer adventures, smiling away with you into the sun. Knowing he’s found you, his human. He just needs a little encouragement and the right environment.
