Gia’s the one you watch on the big screen. The story’s protagonist. Her journey is the “hero’s journey”. That’s where the hero goes on an adventure, and when confronted by a crisis, wins a victory, returning home transformed. Gia has done all that. She arrived to Toronto Humane Society super stressed, full of fear and dealing with a bit of joint pain. But she worked through it and has since won the hearts of staff and volunteers, becoming a shelter favourite within a month.

When she’s taking a break from hero status, she’s making friends with humans and dogs, cuddling and toy collecting. She loves all the toys. Ropes, balls, squeakies, stuffies, you name it. While she can keep herself entertained with toys and her imagination, she much prefers the company of people and other doggies!

Gia’s the type a gal who likes getting to know her people. She’s deep like that. She prefers real friendships and isn’t so into popularity contests.
