When talking about Blackie, one of our volunteers actually said, “I’ve been volunteering here for 13 years, and I have never met a cat like Blackie.”

There are affectionate cats out there. And then there’s Blackie.

When you’re sitting down, he will jump up and place both his arms around your neck while rubbing his head against your cheek. HE HUGS YOU. Most cats would settle for the lap. But not Blackie. No. He goes that extra mile for the love.

We don’t want to say Blackie has dog-like affection. But he totally does. He responds to you when you call him and he gives kisses. Yes, kisses.

All this despite him having a stuffed up nose most of the time!
