Nerda (1 year old, Leopard Gecko)
Introducing Nedra the Leopard Gecko!
She is a beautiful girl looking for an experienced owner who is well versed in Gecko care and proper habitat. Leopard geckos are one of the more popular geckos, they are well known for their beautiful colouring and sweet temperaments.
Leopard geckos are nocturnal lizards native to the deserts of Asia. Like all lizards, they require housing that mimics their native habitat to ensure good health. Adult leopard geckos can reach up to 10 inches in length. They require a habitat that can accommodate their needs when full grown. A vivarium at least 24”x18”x24” is suitable for a single adult.
Because of their tendency to ingest substrate, sand is never recommended. A reptile carpet or safe-if-ingested substrate is ideal. Leopard geckos have very specific temperature requirements that must be maintained at all times. 27-30 degrees Celsius for 12 hours of daytime, and 21 degrees Celsius for 12 hours of night are ideal.
Leopard Geckos are mainly insectivores. Commercial diets specially formulated for Leopard Geckos will contain processed insects and added vitamins. A variety of insects such as crickets, waxworms and mealworms can also be provided.
