Hi! I’m Frank Proctor and Tah Dah!! This is my first blog. And I’m going to keep it all in the family. I’m very proud of my daughter-in-law Kaite, married to my youngest son Toby as well as a mother of three children. The telling of this story makes it necessary to go back to her childhood. She always had a weight problem; not that she didn’t exercise or simply ate too much. No, she was always just a big girl. Flash forward to eight months ago when she was sitting in her doctor’s office and when he turned away from his desk for a moment, she was able to quickly glance at her chart. What she saw shook her to her core. The words MORBIDLY OBESE jumped off the page. From that moment her life changed. In order for her to live to see her children grow up she was determined to shed the unwanted pounds.
About six month ago and after careful consultation and proper advice from her health team she underwent an operation that drastically reduced her stomach size. She has lost over 120 pounds and looks and feels fantastic. But the story doesn’t end there. A few months ago she was introduced to and fell in love with Muay Thai which is known as “the art of eight limbs” because it is characterized by the combined use of fists, elbows, knees, shins, being associated with a good physical preparation that makes a full-contact fighter very efficient. She is very excited at the prospect of having her first fight this Saturday night at the Ayothaya Muay Thai Academy, 370 Queens Quay West, here in Toronto. I’ll be in the audience cheering for her.
