Hi, I’m Gene Stevens – and here’s what’s coming up on my next ‘Vintage Favourites… it’s the ‘Vintage Year – 1930’: the first year of The Great Depression, and the worst drought in history started ‘the dust bowl’ years. Al Capone was finally jailed, but Bonnie and Clyde’s rampage had just begun.

It was the first ever World Cup of soccer, the second Academy Awards, Blondie and Betty Boop came to the comics, Bing Crosby to the music charts, and frozen food to our grocery stores … and, despite the growing breadlines, some were ‘puttin’ on the ritz’ … it was ‘the vintage year – 1930’ …

‘Vintage Canadiana’ follows with birthday tributes to Ronnie Hawkins, and Long John Baldry … please join me for the all-new ‘Vintage Favourites from 2-4:30 – this Sunday afternoon, from Zoomer Radio.
