If you’ve put away the team colours until next year, you’re being encouraged to get them out at least one more day.
October 27 is Blue Jays Appreciation Day in Toronto.
In proclaiming it so, Mayor John Tory said, ”This season, especially in the last half and the playoff run, the Blue Jays made the city cheer.  It made the city believe.  It brought the city together as kind of one city.”
”I hope what we’re going to do tomorrow will send a message to them to say how much we love them and appreciate what they did.”
Jays General Manager Alex Anthopoulos praised fans and the country for rallying behind the team during his end-of-season news conference.

”I never got a chance to meet the mayor but just knowing what was going on at the Bird’s Nest (at Nathan Phillips Square), I think it was great that he did that.”
”It’s a credit to the interest level and the fans.”
