Chris Robinson Travel News: Canadian Tourism Commission to Undergo Name Change

The Canadian Tourism Commission is getting a new corporate identity. Maxime Bernier, Minister of State for Small Business and Tourism announced the new name at a conference in Niagara Falls this week. The CTC will become Destination Canada which is thought to be a more effective brand for the global travel market. Much more importantly, Prime Minister Harper has announced that the CTC – or Destination Canada as we now know it to be – will receive additional support of $30 million over the next three years for a new marketing campaign to attract Americans to visit Canada to take advantage of the strong US Dollar exchange rate.
