It’s one of our favourite weekends across Canada – our long holiday celebration of ‘Canada Day’. And I’ve curated a special ‘Canada Day Edition’ of Vintage Favourites for your Sunday afternoon listening.  We’ll start with ‘A Very Canadian Sunday Sock Hop’ – every song is a Canadian artist’s floor-filler from the Fabulous Fifties and early Sixties, including the ‘Gene’s Jukebox’ feature on the first Toronto band to score a #1 hit on the local CHUM Chart – back in ’63.
Then, a 90-minute salute to ‘this great land’ with songs and anthems from across the decades – most you’ll know and love, but there’ll be a few surprises too. From comedians like Johnny Wayne and Red Skelton, to folk legends like Stan Rogers and The Travellers and two terrific versions of ‘Oh Canada’. There’s much more – so please join me this Sunday (June 30th) between 2:00 and 4:30pm.  And have a happy – and safe – Canada Day holiday weekend !
