You read that right ! Mick Jagger is about to hit a major milestone birthday (born July 26, 1943). One of the fittest of all rock stars: Jagger’s age is both a reality-check for baby-boomers (has it really been 58 years since we first heard ‘Satisfaction’?) … and a giant ‘thumbs-up’ for all of us Zoomers, as we continue to redefine what aging means. But demographic marvels aside – let’s just celebrate Mick’s music; those amazing Rolling Stones songs from their earliest recordings, through their landmark classics, and some recent releases too.
Plus: a birthday salute to Hamilton’s own Ian Thomas, and our usual first-hour feature (2-3pm.) ‘Our Sunday Best – A Century of #1 Hits’, taking us from Ella Fitzgerald’s first major hit in 1938 through Elvis, The Four Seasons, Steppenwolf and UB-40. I’ll also tell you ‘The Story Behind the Song‘ ‘Eye of the Tiger’. I hope you’ll tune in this Sunday (July 23) from 2:00 to 4:30.
