The tragedy unfolding in Ukraine has already cost thousands of lives, devastating millions more, and ruining a beautiful country once called ‘The Breadbasket of Europe’. We don’t know when or how this cruel madness will end; there will likely be more heartbreak before it does. But in the end, peace must surely come; we can only hope and pray it comes sooner than later.
I wanted to add my voice for peace with a selection of songs – some timeless and well-known, and some fresh and new – in a special hour of ‘Songs of Peace for Ukraine‘. Please join me this Sunday for a wide-ranging program from ‘This Week In Zoomer Music‘ remembering the day Elvis came to town, Ricky Nelson’s first recording, the Sgt. Pepper album cover, and ‘The Story Behind the Song‘ ‘Smoke on the Water’ inspired by a real-life event. And I’ll wrap-up the show with a 60th birthday salute to the wonderful Jann Arden.
