Did you ever put together a ‘mix-tape’ or burn a CD of great songs for your sweetheart ? That used to be ‘a thing’ back in the day; a great little gift for someone special. This Sunday is Valentine’s Day and I’m looking forward to sharing some of the very best love songs with you. These are the classics – from Chet Baker’s sublime ‘My Funny Valentine‘ and Nat King Cole literally spelling it out with ‘L-O-V-E‘, to Elvis and The Beatles and Leonard Cohen and … well, I’d like to surprise you with some as well.
From ‘puppy love’, and movie soundtracks with lusty lovers, to the poignancy near ‘the end’ … love songs through a lifetime, by some of the all-time greats. I hope you’ll join me this Sunday afternoon.
The show always starts with a look back to the events and personalities who made news ‘This Week in Zoomer Music‘. One of the real treats I’ll be featuring is a ‘work-in-progress’ version of the Beach Boys’ classic ‘Good Vibrations‘ which was ‘under construction’ 55 years ago this week.
That’s all on ‘Vintage Favourites’ this Sunday from 1:00 to 4:30pm.
