Who would’ve guessed that the wildest man in 50s Rock’n’Roll would be ‘the last man standing’?  After the deaths of Elvis and Bill Haley, Buddy Holly, Carl Perkins, Fats Domino, Chuck Berry and Little Richard – it’s Jerry Lee Lewis who’s still alive – and occasionally still rockin’ those 88s. Despite his wild life-style and all his ups and downs, Lewis is about to celebrate his 85th birthday, and I am so pleased to feature all his classic hits with several surprises as well.
A Canadian icon is also marking his birthday as Randy Bachman turns 77 on Sunday – so I’ll have his Guess Who and BTO hits lined up as well.  As for ‘This Week in Zoomer Music’ it’s another variety-packed feature ranging from Bessie Smith to Bob Marley; from Elvis Presley’s second SUN recording to ‘The Boss’, and the woman for whom the hit song ‘Linda’ was actually composed – way back in the 40s when it was a hit for Buddy Clark before its surfin’ revival by Jan & Dean !  How could such a song be about the future wife of a Beatle ?  Well – it was, and I’ll tell you the whole story of ‘Linda’ … part of another fascinating edition of ‘Vintage Favourites’ starting this Sunday at 1.  Cheers.
