National Pain Awareness Week

On the Friday November 12th edition of Goldhawk Fights Back:
Anna Taddio, clinical pharmacist and University of Toronto professor,  was on the show to talk about National Pain Awareness Week (November 8 -12)
All Canadians may have access to influenza vaccines this winter season, however, due to fear of pain many are opting out. It is estimated that up to 25 per cent of adults have a considerable fear of needles, a concern that directly contributes to the low number of individuals vaccinated.
The Canadian Pain Society (CPS) and Canadian Pain Coalition (CPC) are raising awareness of the persistent problem of acute pain, which affects millions of Canadians every day. Statistics Canada estimates that 10 per cent of men and 15 per cent of women over the age of 12 report pain or discomfort that prevents daily activities.
