ZOOMER SQUAD: ONTARIO SENIORS HOMES PREVENTING FAMILY MEMBER VISITS – NOVEMBER 25 2019

Libby Znaimer is joined by Peter Muggeridge, Senior Editor of Zoomer Magazine, David Cravit, Vice President at Zoomer Media and Marissa Lennox, Chief Policy Officer at CARP.

Every Monday at noon, we bring you the Zoomer Squad. Today’s agenda items: Ontario seniors homes are using the Ontario’s Trespass to Property Act to prevent family members of residents from visiting. Is this being done to stifle complaints about the conditions of these homes? Then, Toronto Police were on site at a Scarborough mall this past weekend. They were there to teach seniors, specifically, about pedestrian safety on the roads. Not everyone is happy with this calling the initiative a form of “victim blaming”. What do you think? Our Zoomer Squad discusses these topics and more.
