QUEEN’S UNIVERSITY LAW SCHOOL REMOVES NAME OF SIR JOHN A. MACDONALD FROM BUILDING-OCTOBER 22 2020

Libby Znaimer is joined by Cat Criger, an Indigenous Elder who works extensively in secondary and post-secondary institutions and is a regular consultant in health, corporate and government institutions as well as Dr. Patrice Dutil, a professor in the Department of Politics and Public Administration at Ryerson University.

This past week, Queen’s University removed the name of Canada’s first prime minister, Sir John A. Macdonald, from it’s law school building. It’s time to revisit the discussion of how Canadians should remember the country’s historical figures.
