A new troubling revelation out of Ottawa: the former Canadian Ambassador to the U.S., David MacNaughton, has broken the law (section 33 of the Conflict of Interest Act) by lobbying Liberal ministers and staff in government. The ruling comes from the federal ethics commissioner Mario Dion who stated that MacNaughton was taking “improper advantage” of his position when lobbying those individuals.
