November 15, 1959 – Johnny and the Moondogs

Johnny and the Moondogs, (better known as The Beatles) played in the Mr Star-Maker Talent Show at The Hippodrome Theatre in Manchester, England. They played “Rave On”, a Buddy Holly cover. According to Paul, John didn’t play guitar that night because “[he] must have sold [it] or busted it or something. He didn’t have it with him.” They made it through to the final round but had to leave early to drive back to Liverpool for school the next day.
