Johnny Cash marries Vivian Liberto at St. Anne’s Catholic Church, in San Antonio. Liberto was Cash’s first wife.
The couple met in the summer of 1951 at a skating rink. Nineteen year-old Johnny Cash was training to join the Air Force. Soon after meeting, he was deployed on a three year overseas tour. During his deployment, the couple corresponded by mail and amassed over 10, 000 pages of love letters.
