STRATFORD FESTIVAL CELEBRATES 60th ANNIVERSARY

It was 60 years ago today that a group of theatre lovers in a small southwestern Ontario town saw their dreams come true when the Stratford Shakespearean Festival opened.

And, tonight, the Festival celebrates the anniversary with a Shakespeare classic. Aaron Krohn will play the title role when the Festival’s production of “Henry V” opens at Stratford.

The production will cap a week of openings that featured three new works: Daniel  McIvor’s new play “The Best Brothers”; “Hirsch”, based on the life of former Artistic Director John Hirsch; and “Wanderlust”, a new musical based on the poetry of Robert Service, written by Marek Norman and Morris Panych.
