There is one less person vying for Premier McGuinty’s job as party leader when he steps down in January.
Former deputy premier, George Smitherman says he will not seek the job which would also make him premier.
Finance Minister Dwight Duncan and embattled Energy Minister Chris Bentley, under fire for the power plants and months of withholding documents related to their cancellation costs have said they will not run and will leave politics before the next election.
Ministers who are considering a run at the job include Kathleen Wynne, Charles Sousa, Glen Murray, Eric Hoskins and Brad Duguid.
Outside government, former ministers Sandra Pupatello who already has Duncan’s endorsement and George Smitherman are trying to put runs together.
The deadline for entering the race is November 23red. The entry fee is 50-thousand dollars.
