Supreme Court of Canada justices have reserved decision in a case one participant says is vital to maintaining confidence in the voting system.
Defeated Liberal candidate Borys Wrzesnewskyj wants Prime Minister Harper to call a byelection in the Toronto riding of Etobicoke Centre immediately if the high court rules in his favour.
Conservative M-P Ted Opitz won last year’s election by 26 votes, but Wrzesnewskyj appealed and a lower court tossed out the result, finding Elections Canada officials made clerical errors at the polls.
