A rare Chinese vase has sold for more than $1.3 million US at auction.
The Ming Dynasty moonflask, owned by an unidentified family for decades had been kept on a wooden stand and used as a doorstop, until someone spotted a similar piece in a Sotheby’s ad.
The New York auction house valued the vase at $600,000-$800,000.
A jade imperial seal from the Qing dynasty went for $3.5 million.
