MORNEAU SAYS WOMEN WILL BE IN THE SPRING BUDGET SPOTLIGHT

Improving the economic success of women – and finding ways for science to help the economy into the distant future.
Those are just two of the areas that finance minister Bill Morneau says the federal government will focus on – in the spring budget.
Morneau says a central theme of the document will be raising the work force participation of women – and making it easier for them to play a bigger role in the job market – which will not only help families – it will also boost the country’s economic growth.

He says the budget will also contain steps to ensure that people have the skills for jobs of the future – especially with so many technological changes on the horizon.
