Toronto’s legendary “El Mocambo” is getting a makeover.
The storied music venue has hosted some of rock and roll’s best artists through the years.
The music landmark on Spadina Avenue has been purchased by Sam Grosso, owner of the Cadillac Lounge, and his business partner Marco Petrucci, owner of 99 Sudbury.
The pair plan to resurrect the iconic neon sign at an estimated cost of 20-thousand dollars and want to bring the “El Mo” back to the glory days of the 1960s and 70s.
It opened in 1848 and has changed ownership at least 8 times since then.
