DUNCAN POINTS TO CAMPAIGN TEAM FOR PLANT CANCELLATION

A senior cabinet minister says the decision to scrap a gas plant in Mississauga just days before the provincial election came from the Liberal campaign team.

But Finance Minister Dwight Duncan says the idea wasn’t discussed by cabinet until after the fall vote.

He’s being grilled in committee about the move, which is expected to cost taxpayers 190 million dollars.

Conservatives and New Democrats charge the decision to stop construction on the power project was made to save Liberal seats west of Toronto.
