CANADIANS WATCHING AND LISTENING MORE TO TV AND RADIO

Radio and television are going strong.

Canadians spent more time listening to radio and watching T-V last year than in 2010.

The federal broadcast regulator says Canadians watched an average of 28.5 hours of T-V a week, up from 28 hours in 2010.

Radio listening rose from 17.6 to 17.7 hours a week.

Watching television on the internet is on the increase, rising to  an average of 2.8 hours a week.

C-R-T-C chairman Jean-Pierre Blais says this suggests Canadians are enthusiastic consumers of creative content, whatever the platform.
