Dale Goldhawk is a journalist, author and broadcaster with more than 45 years of experience in newspapers, radio, and television, including CBC, CTV, GLOBAL, CPAC, CFRB, and the Toronto Telegram. Currently, Goldhawk hosts Goldhawk Fights Back For You, a daily citizen advocacy show on Zoomer radio. Goldhawk was nominated by the Canadian Association of Journalists as one of Canada’s outstanding investigative journalists in 2001; was a Gemini Award nominee for Best Reporter in 1996; a national Radio Award nominee for Best Broadcaster in 1992; and in 2002, he won an Impressions Award for Best on-air-personality in the Rogers Television Network. In 2005, Dale won a Best Performance award from the Canadian Cable Television Association. As a Past President of the Alliance of Canadian Cinema, Television and Radio Artists (ACTRA), Goldhawk was awarded the ACTRA President’s Award for distinguished service to ACTRA and its members, as well as the Ryerson Union Award in recognition of “his accomplished journalism career and his achievements, leadership and integrity as President of ACTRA.” He is a former President of the Alzheimer Society of Canada and now serves as Vice Chairman of Alzheimer’s Disease International, a federation of 82 countries united in the fight against dementia. Goldhawk is also a member of the Board of Directors at Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences. He has done extensive volunteer work for Easter Seals Ontario and was the recipient of the charity’s highest honour, the Yvonne Alexander Award, “recognizing exemplary support in helping children with physical disabilities succeed.” Goldhawk is a recipient of both the Queen’s Golden Jubilee Medal and the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal.
