Zoomer Radio Pet of the Week: Choco the 10-year-old female dog

Choco took a personality test and discovered she was an INFP (“the mediator personality”). At first, she thought this was hogwash because her idol Judge Judy is an ESTJ, not an INFP, and she wants to be like Judge Judy because she is fierce and strong.

But now that she’s thought about it, the INFP type makes sense because underneath Choco’s anxious, shy, and sometimes sassy exterior is a super sensitive and caring senior gal! Oh! And INFP’s love to play! Choco is also super playful! It all makes sense now! For an old gal who’s been through it all, she has a pep in her step and a fun, silly side only a select few get to see!

Choco has had a tough life. Going from one home to another and never able to socialize like other dogs, she is very nervous around new people. Oh, and touching! Eek! Hands off sister. She’s the type of introvert who cringes when she’s hugged. Even if she’s gotten to know and trust you, she’d prefer you keep your scratches to yourself!

To put it another way, Choco’s the type who makes weekend plans and then immediately regrets making them until it comes time to come up with a well-thought-out excuse to get out of them.

Choco also has a thing for her special squeaky toys! She likes bringing them wherever she goes and has been known to guard them when someone tries taking them away. She can even get a little nippy! Just cause she brought out her toys doesn’t mean you get to touch em! Geeze, whaddya think this is, share and tell?!

Choco is a super smart, sensitive girl with a big heart underneath some layers of anxiety and distrust. Once she trusts you, she’ll show you how important you are to her.

She is looking for a calm, experienced family who would be willing to give her the time and space she needs to adjust and trust. She hopes her family would pay attention to her body language, keep their hands off at the beginning, and always be willing to give her space.

If there’s another dog in the home, she could eventually warm up to them if she has her own private space to recharge first! Also, she’ll need to meet him or her before she agrees to come home with you!
