Fittingly, on Canada Day weekend, Canadian icons Gordon Lightfoot and Joni Mitchell will join legendary singer-songwriter Paul Simon – the latest three distinguished artists to be honoured by Zoomer Radio as The Immortals.
Bob Dylan said, “I can’t think of any Gordon Lightfoot song that I don’t like. Every time I hear a song of his, I wish it would last forever.”
Madonna said, “Of all the women I’ve heard, Joni Mitchell had the most profound affect on me from a lyrical point of view.”
And on his own and in his storied partnership with Art Garfunkel, Paul Simon is considered to be one the finest musicians in all of popular music.
Now Gordon Lightfoot, Joni Mitchell and Paul Simon are The Immortals, and beginning Saturday June 29, host Larry Jackson will play their music and tell their surprising and inspiring stories every Saturday and Sunday from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Zoomer Radio.
Celebrate their induction! ENTER THE CONTEST HERE for a chance to win a CD collection of their greatest hits.
And what of Leonard Cohen, Tony Bennett, and The Beatles?
No radio station plays more of their music on a daily basis.
Once a Zoomer Immortal, always a Zoomer Immortal.
